CADMATIC Student License Application Terms and Conditions

Software License Agreement Between Applicant (hereinafter referred to as "Student") and Cadmatic Oy

The following is agreed on the use of the CADMATIC software and its associated applications:

1. Student license

Student license is intended for a person studying electrical/automation, construction, or HVAC engineering, at an institution where CADMATIC software is used in teaching the field of study. By accepting this agreement, the Student confirms that their studies meet the definition of a student in the above-mentioned student license agreement.
The Student will receive the right to use the CADMATIC software for installation on their personal computer for the entire period of study. The term "study period" in this context refers to the time during which the Student is enrolled at the institution of application at the time of application and meets the requirements set by the institution for study. The Student's personal computer must be equipped with a continuous internet connection to verify the validity of the license

2. Use of the software

The CADMATIC student license can be used free of charge for all tasks related to studies, including documentation related to the final project (e.g., engineering thesis). Use for other than directly related to studies requires an explanation to be provided to Cadmatic Oy.
For commercial use, CADMATIC's license rental price list applies. It is not permitted to use the student license in business or in any other commercial activity without the consent of Cadmatic Oy.

3. Notification of commercial use

If a student wants to use the software themselves in summer jobs or in paid work during the semester, CADMATIC's license rental price list will apply. The charge can be made directly to the employer upon request. The student is required to notify Cadmatic Oy of such use before commencing it.

4. Penalties for non-compliance

If Cadmatic Oy finds that the software is being used in violation of the above-mentioned principles, Cadmatic Oy has the right to invoice the student for the full amount of the software in use, according to the current CADMATIC price list.

5. Acquisition of rights for professional use

Upon completion of the study period, the student has the opportunity to acquire the rights to use the CADMATIC software and applications they have been using for professional use for themselves or for a company they have founded. In this case, the pricing will be based on the current offer provided to the Student.

6. Delivery of software

Upon approval of the student license application, Cadmatic Oy will deliver to the student the necessary credentials, activation key, and download instructions for downloading the software from the server designated by Cadmatic Oy

7. Technical support and software updates

Student use does not include technical support by phone or software updates by mail.

8. Internet update service

The student license includes the right to use Cadmatic Oy's Internet update service, from which the student can download the latest software versions for use for the purpose mentioned in this agreement. The Student must not disclose the user name and password for the Internet update service to a third party. The Student also undertakes to ensure that the user name and password do not come to the knowledge of third parties. Cadmatic Oy reserves the right to close the update service for the relevant user name if there is reason to suspect that the user name and password have come to the knowledge of a third party.

9. Term of the agreement

This agreement is valid for an indefinite period, but not more than 6 years. When the student graduates from the institution of education mentioned in this agreement or interrupts their studies, they are required to notify Cadmatic Oy immediately, at which point the agreement ceases to exist and the service is terminated by Cadmatic Oy. A separate agreement is always made for the redemption of the student license, with the terms and conditions in force at the time.

10. Changes to the agreement

If the student changes institutions of education during the term of this agreement or their contact information changes, it must be notified to Cadmatic Oy immediately.

11. Assignment of the agreement

Neither party to the agreement may transfer the agreement to a third party without the written consent of the other party to the agreement.

12. Breach of contract

If the student breaches this agreement, Cadmatic Oy has the right to terminate the agreement immediately.
