The approach generates high topology 3D hull structure layouts based on 2D sketches. Furthermore, it uses an open standard format to interact with scantling tools that facilitates the hull definition process and approval. The tool connects hull shape optimization tools, hull design, and outfitting layout, leading to the overall optimized design of vessels.
